CoinTracker stores a copy of each tax report you generate for three years from the date you generated it. When a download link has expired or you cannot find a report email, download the stored copy from the Generated tax reports page. You do not need to generate the report again.
Download a stored report
- In the Account menu, select Generated tax reports. You can also go directly to cointracker.com/tax/reports.
- Select the tax year.
- Select Tax forms, Tax software, or CSV exports to filter the list, or keep All selected.
- Select Download next to the report.
To download an earlier copy of a report, select View other versions and pick a version. Each version shows the date it was requested, the cost basis method, and the short-term and long-term gains at that time.
You can also open the Generated tax reports page from the Previous reports link on the Tax reports card on the Taxes page.
How long does CoinTracker store my reports?
Each copy is stored for three years from the date you generated it. After that, the report shows Not stored. Regenerating the report creates a new copy, which is stored for another three years.
What do the report statuses mean?
Each report on the Generated tax reports page shows its status or the action available for it.

| Available when calculations finish | Cost basis is recalculating, so Generate and Regenerate are unavailable. Download still works. | Wait until cost basis finishes recalculating, then generate the report. |
Why does a report show Updated numbers available?
Your tax numbers change when you add, edit, or delete transactions, change your cost basis method, or unfreeze a tax year. Freezing a tax year does not change your numbers.

What do the buttons on the Tax reports card mean?
The Tax reports card on the Taxes page shows the latest version of each report:
- Download means an up-to-date stored copy is ready.
- Regenerate and Download previous appear when your numbers changed after the report was generated. Select Download previous for the stored copy, or Regenerate for a report with your current figures.
Which reports are not stored?
Tax lots CSV and Tax lots as of a date reports are not stored. Generate them again each time you need them.
Why is the Generated tax reports page empty?
The page lists only reports you have generated. If you have not generated any reports yet, the page is empty. Select Generate reports to create your first report.
Can I download stored reports in the mobile app?
The Generated tax reports page is currently available on web only. Sign in to CoinTracker on a web browser to download stored reports.
