If connecting CoinTracker to your AI client fails, or the CoinTracker tools do not appear after you connect, remove the connector in your AI client and reconnect. Most connection problems, including a "something went wrong" message, an authentication loop, or a 401 error, can clear after you reconnect.
Reconnect your AI client
- In your AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, or another), remove the existing CoinTracker connector.
- Make sure you are signed in to your CoinTracker account in the same browser.
- Add the connector again using the URL
https://mcp.cointracker.com/mcp. - Complete the CoinTracker sign-in and authorize access when prompted.
For the full setup steps in each client, see connect CoinTracker to your AI assistant.
Why don't the CoinTracker tools appear?
If you're connected but no CoinTracker tools show up, your account may not have access yet. Access rolls out per user and if the tools do not appear after reconnecting, please check back later.
I see an authentication loop or a 401 error
An authentication loop or a 401 error after connecting usually means the connection needs to be re-established. Remove the connector and reconnect using the steps above, making sure you are signed in to CoinTracker in the same browser.
My numbers look out of date
Answers use your latest synced CoinTracker data, not the live blockchain or exchange. If your numbers look stale, re-sync your accounts in the CoinTracker app, then ask your AI client again.
